Cleethorpes Paddling Pool ready for opening!

Cleethorpes Paddling Pool is ready for opening after months of hard work and preparation.

The pool is a regular hotspot for tourists and locals alike to bring their kids and cool off in the summer sun.

Vandals sadly attacked the pool over the Easter bank holiday, slowing down the opening date but this didn’t stop Harrisons Ices from pulling out all the stops.

Once the machines have been tested today the pool will officially be ready to open, with the aim to welcome back the public over the May bank holiday weekend.

Harrisons Ices said: “I think the word proud doesn’t do this justice.

“I accepted the challenge to get this place back to how it was when myself and many others were young kids.

“I looked at it as I do everything in my way, and said to Dave .. we can have that done in a week. Dave laughed, but we have done it.

“From the freezing cold days in February, hiring every machine possible to get the paint chippings off the floor, to now sit here in what feels like 20-degree heat, watching the finished project fill up.

“We did it! It took a little longer than a week, actually took around 10 weeks, but with the hard graft, countless hours, sweat, and many sweat words we are here.

“We have the pool filling up nicely today, the machines being tested tomorrow hopefully and once they are given the green light, which I’m sure they will be, we will be open by the weekend.”

The team also shares a time-lapse of all the fantastic hard work they have carried out in order to bring the pool back up to working order.
