Grimsby drug dealing ‘thug’ now behind bars
A Grimsby man labelled as a drug dealing “thug” is now behind bars, Humberside Police announced.
Tomas Pearson, 25-years-old, of First Avenue, Grimsby has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison after he was charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
The 25-year-old entered Grimsby Crown Court on Thursday 28 April on a guilty plea.
The court heard how the accused had been pursued by officers in September of 2020 after he failed to stop when asked to do so.
Eventually, the arresting officers were able to stop Tomas, who was driving dangerously and at speed.
Humberside Police officers seized and examined Mr Pearson’s mobile phone, which evidenced involvement of drugs supply in Grimsby.
He appeared in court at an earlier date in relation to his dangerous driving, which had been likened to “Fast and Furious”, for which he received a suspended sentence.
Detective Constable Wayne Martin, leading the investigation, said:
“I hope the sentence handed to Pearson serves as a stark warning to others looking to come to our communities to deal and distribute drugs. You’re not welcome here, and we will not tolerate it”
“This is an example where we have taken drugs off the streets of Grimsby, preventing the associated crime and anti-social behaviour that goes with this kind of offending”, he added.
“Drugs offences can cause significant disruption to our local communities, and we will continue to do everything we can to bring those responsible to justice”
