Appeals for help with ‘GPK Youth Acknowledgement Awards’

An appeal has been posted from a local talent for a charity awards night, hosted by the person in question.

George Kavanagh has posted to his official social media page asking for sponsors for the ‘GPK Youth Acknowledgement Awards’.

In the post, sponsors are needed to support any of the six awards which includes the event itself, taking place on Friday 25th November, 2022.

“Local businesses we want you!

“We are currently looking for some businesses based in Grimsby and Cleethorpes to sponsor the upcoming inaugural ‘GPK Youth Acknowledgement Awards”.

A video was posted to the account stating more information about the charity drive.

“Any businesses that step up to sponsor this latest endeavour will be promoted between now and the awards ceremony on 25th November, with a couple of company representatives earning invitations to attend the ceremony at Grimsby Central Hall.”

It is understood the drive is through St Andrew’s Hospice, with the two regularly in unison.

“If your business has a soft spot for St Andrew’s Hospice Grimsby, get in touch”

There was also a recent charity drive, where a local boy was inspired by George to carry out charity work, regarding his previous and current work throughout the area.

Grimsby boy has undertaken the fantastic and generous task of collecting Easter eggs for those less fortunate after being inspired by another local charity fundraiser.

Cohen was looking to do something for charity and stumbled upon George Kavanagh’s social media post, in unison with St Andrew’s Hospice Grimsby.

He said: “I did an Easter egg collection, but originally I was just looking to do something for charity and I saw something on Georges’s Facebook page through St Andrews and I thought to do an Easter egg collection.”
