Witness appeal following a serious assault in the early hours
Humberside Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault last month.
Officers investigating reports of an incident on Lindum Road, Cleethorpes, on Sunday 17 April are now appealing for potential witnesses to come forward.
It is understood that a heated altercation took place between a man and two women in Market Place, Cleethorpes at around 5am.
It is believed that another man intervened before he retreated to a taxi, with the two women, and left the area.
The taxi then travelled from the Market Place area to Lindum Road. A Black Mercedes, which was described as moving “erratically”, followed the taxi.
According to reports, the man was struck by the Mercedes after he exited the taxi, leaving him with serious injuries.
In a statement, Humberside Police said:
“Extensive enquires have been carried out and officers are now appealing to the taxi driver to come forward as we believe he may have vital information that could assist our investigation”
“If this was you, or you witnessed the incident or have any dashcam or CCTV footage from the area at the time, please call our non-emergency 101 line, quoting log 161 of 17 April”, they added.
