Former Tapas restaurant announces ‘takeaway’ plans despite previous hygiene rating
A former tapas restaurant has hinted it may start providing a takeaway service, following the closure of its premises after receiving a zero-star hygiene rating.
Lids Tapas closed its doors in February announcing the decision on social media.
The operator is listed as ‘Cala Bassa’ under the current company’s house listing, however, it is active with a proposal to strike-off on companies house.
They attributed the licensing issue as the reason for their zero-star rating of Lids Tapas Ltd.
At the time of the closure, they announced the Louth Road venue would be closing its doors for good, but they would be relocating in time.
On a social media in February, they said: “Some may have noticed we are currently temporarily closed… well we have some news that we are RELOCATING.
“We wanted to Thank the Scartho community, our neighbours, our past and present staff, and our customers for your continued support over the years you have been AMAZING. We have decided to relocate Lids Tapas & Cocktails and will unfortunately no longer be in the Scartho Community.
“We are SUPER excited to show you the new site, there will be an opening launch, a new menu, and fresh new ideas. Keep your eyes peeled on our socials for more information… SEE YOU SOON.”
The social media page has now announced a new venture, writing in a post:
On their Facebook, they published a picture of several dishes in takeaway boxes accompanied with the words: “Guess who’s coming back…”.
