Police ramps up Scunthorpe patrols to keep our streets safe

Humberside Police have increased their street presence in Scunthorpe.

Throughout the week, the force have swept the town with regular foot patrols, assisted by their canine companion.

Earlier in the week, police were able to seize a bladed article, conduct several drugs related searches, and make two arrests, all thanks to Roscoe, the forces sniffer pup!

One female was arrested for a drug offensive and another for possession of a bladed article.

Then, Roscoe led the way on Frodingham ward which saw two suspects searched after fleeing from the officers.

Five people were searched for drugs following an extensive patrol through King Street, Fenton Street, Cliff Gardens, Mary Street, and ravendale street.

The increased street presence follows the “StreetSafe” initiative, a pilot that allows residents to anonymously report public places that feel unsafe.

You can report an area that has made you feel unsafe for “environmental issues, eg street lighting, abandoned buildings or vandalism and/or because of some behaviours, eg being followed or verbally abused”

Scunthorpe residents commented words of praise for the incredible efforts of pup Roscoe and co, saying:

“Well done, keep up the great work”

“It’s lovely to see. Keep up the good work”

“Well done team!!!! Keep up the good work”

Did you manged to spot Roscoe this week?
