Busy day for Town fans as 2022/2023 fixtures are confirmed

It was a busy day for Grimsby Fans as league and cup fixture were confirmed.

Mariners were kept busy throughout the day following three separate fixtures releases.

Firstly, Town learned their League Two fixture dates for the entire year following the release of Championship, League One, and League Two match dates at 9am this morning.

The Mariners will get their season underway away from home against Leyton Orient on July 30. Town’s first home game of the season lands on Saturday 6 August, when they will host promotion hopefuls Northampton Town.

Then at 11:30am, Town’s group for the controversial Papa Johns Trophy was complete following the draws of the invited Premier League academies.

Placed in Group F, the Black and White Army will play Mansfield Town, Derby County and Manchester City U21.

Finally, the Mariners drew fellow League Two side Crewe Alexandra in the first round of the Carabao Cup.

Although Town fans have a little over a month until league action begins again, their pre-season campaign is just around the corner which features some interesting fixtures, including their annual friendly against Cleehthorpes Town!

Pre-season fixtures are as follows:

  • Cleethorpes Town – 9 July
  • Alfreton Town – 16 July
  • Lincoln City – 19 July
  • North Ferriby – 20 July

Whilst GTFC supporters patiently wait for the club’s highly anticipated return to EFL action, season tickets sales have been selling incredibly fast! – Yesterday (June 22) GTFC celebrated reaching 4,000 season ticket holders.

With the season set to kick-off next month, season tickets can be purchased here.
