GTFC announce Harry Clifton will STAY with the club!
Grimsby Town have confirmed Harry Clifton will continue to play his football with the Black and White Army for another two years.
A Town fan favourite, Clifton’s contact extension announcement will put a smile on Mariner faces up and down the town.
The 24-year-old has been an invaluable asset for the Mariners, a career that has already seen him play his football with the club for four seasons!
Clifton was especially critical during John McAtee’s injury spell this season, the diverse midfielder stepped and guided his team through several important fixtures.
Speaking to the club. Clifton said he was “delighted to finally put pen to paper”, adding:
“It feels great to know that I’m going to be here for another two years.
“I can’t wait to get out there again and play in front of our amazing fans – they have been brilliant.”
Paul Hurst said:
“I’m delighted that Harry’s signed back up again. He’s been with the Club for some time and, going back a few years, I gave him his first professional contract – he’s obviously played a lot of games since then!
“He’s a versatile player but found himself playing on the left of midfield a lot for us last season. You always know what you’re going to get from Harry, he’s a fully committed and hardworking player, and think this was a big decision for him to make. I think our promotion back to the Football League helped and I’m sure he’s looking forward to continuing his association with the football club.”
