Danny Amos signs new GTFC deal!

GTFC have confirmed Danny Amos has decided to extent his stay with the Mariners after penning a new one-year deal.

Amos joined the Black and White Army in January on a short-term deal and made a total of 21 appearances since signing.

The 22-year-old was a project of the Doncaster Rovers academy and eventually made 25 appearances for the club.

Following a difficult spell at Port Vale, Amos made the move to Blundell Park and was a regular face in Town’s backline.

Speaking to GTC, Amos said he was “delighted” to extend his stay with the Mariners, adding:

“Back in January when I came in, I knew I only had six months and I was fully focused on helping the Club get promotion, I wasn’t thinking about contracts at the time. But luckily the Gaffer showed faith in me and I’m now buzzing to put pen-to-paper.

“It’s been phenomenal to see the number of fans who have bought a season ticket for next season, and I can’t wait to see them all again and get going again. Hopefully we can push on and you never know what could happen.”

Paul Hurst said Amos did “extremely well” following his short-term deal last season, further stating:

“He thought it might have taken him a little bit of time to get up to speed, but, in fairness to him, he was in good shape and fitted in brilliantly with the group.

“He obviously did very well for us and played his part in helping us achieve promotion.

“I think there’s more to come from Danny, which we’ve spoken about, and I certainly want to give him the opportunity to show that.”
