Grimsby rugby star bravely saves distressed woman in Cleethorpes

A brave Grimsby rugby star acted with “courage” and “compassion” as he saved a distressed woman in Cleethorpes.

Jordan Carr, known as a Jord, was walking along Cleethorpes promenade with his partner when they noticed a woman sat on the timber tide breaks around 10:30pm.

After taking a moment to digest the visual, Jord decided to approach the woman to see if she was ok. Sadly, the distressed woman had jumped down onto the sand and proceed to walked into the sea.

Without hesitation, Jordan and another witness followed the woman into the water and guide her to safety.

After retreating back to land, Jordan wrapped the woman in his warm dry clothes whilst his partner pointed the police towards their vicinity.

Both Jord and the witness waited and spoke with the woman until the police arrived, ensuring she was completely safe and out of further danger.

Following the heroic event, the Grimsby Ruby Club paid tribute to Jordan for his courage which received a plethora of lovely messages for the ruby star, his partner, the witness, and the distressed woman.

“Courage, compassion, modesty and ‘just doing the right thing’, isn’t that what makes rugby players superheroes?? So proud,” read one emotional reply.

“Well done young man, saving a life is very special and will stay with you forever,” added another.

“Well done, hope the lady us OK and gets the support she clearly needs,” replied another.

“Well done Jordan. You didn’t just save her Life. Your saved that of her family,” read another touching response.

Well done to all involved! True courage and bravery evidenced during such an emotionally raw moment.
