North Lincolnshire family ‘honoured’ by charity initiative support

A North Lincolnshire family have described their “honour” following incredible support from locals in their mission to raise money for a Scunthorpe charity.

Dec Marshall, who lives in Winterton, has kept Gi Scunthorpe News updated on his amazing charity milestones after he announced a second fund raiser following previous success.

Last year, Dec managed to earn a staggering fund of £22,000 for Scunthorpe’s Intensive Care Unit, a total that enabled the care provider to purchase brand-new lifesaving equipment.

With help from his sister, Dec launched a GoFundMe page with a goal of raising even more money for charity – the money raised this time will be given to Lindsey Lodge Hospice in Scunthorpe.

Less than one month after surpassing the £4,000 milestone, Dec proudly confirmed his charitable efforts have now reached £7,000!

Dec had previously mentioned he had no intentions of slowing down anytime soon, a notion evidenced in this new update.

According to the young man, more money is still expected to trickle in once tickets for the actual event, and raffle tickets, go on sale.

The fund raiser has been setup in memory of Pete Marshall, described as a beloved dad, husband, and friend to many.

Dec’s sister said Pete would be the first person to offer help and support to anybody no matter how “big or small,” adding:

“It’s such an honour of people coming together to help others, in memory of such a wonderful person.

“Raising so much money in memory of him for this amazing cause; really brings out how honoured he was, and how proud everyone should be to of known him.”

Well done Dec and the Marshall family!
