Showmans Army continue excellent form after BRUTAL whitewash
Showmans Army was in brutal form once again this week with a crushing 13-0 whitewash victory against club mates Cobras. Mulligans Trojans remain in second with a convincing 11-2 victory of their own away at Brumby Hall but lose ground on the top spot as the gap widens to 8 points.
Colin Finn’s Showmans Fu Cue got the better of Martin Lammings Chaos team this week winning 9-4 in the battle of the venues gaffers. Back In Black Beauty move within touching distance of a safety spot following their 6-6 draw with Broughton Club Pirates.
Seventh placed Beacon A scored their fourth win of the season against sixth placed Redbourne Mods as both sides appear to be all but safe from any possible relegation fears.
Mulligans Majestic Sausage Dogs reclaim their position at the top of division 2 with an excellent 11-2 victory over Winterton Jubilee. Braces from Quinn, Mason, Greens rugby maverick Woody and a 20th win of the season for Smithson elevated las dachsunds back into pole position for now.
Showmans Improvers secured their eighth win of the season with a 7-5 victory over Mill Road Black Cats to keep up the pressure. Cocked Hat B did their promotion prospects a world of good following their 8-4 win over Glennys Poachers.
Ashby Crown gave themselves real hope of avoiding relegation with an 8-4 win over eighth placed Black Beauty which closes the gap to the safety zone to just five points. Messingham Crown and RAOB maintain their places in mid table following a 6-6 draw.
Showmans Rat Outcasts could be out of sight at the summit of division 3 as they thumped bottom placed Harrys Bar 11-2.
The game of the day was at Showmans as second placed Spartans fell at the hand of third placed Fedoras. Liberal Club scored their second win of the season away at Old Farmhouse winning 8-5 to give the Crowle outfit a real chance of avoiding relegation.
Chancel Flyers moved closer to the bottom two following their 9-4 home defeat to Cocked Hat A. Meanwhile Pig & Whistle did their promotion chances no harm with a good 7-5 victory over fellow promotion chasers Mulligans Tight Rack.
The three-way title race in division 4 gets more intriguing this week as top placed Bottesford Town dropped crucial frames at home to RHH Hospital Club losing 8-5 in the process.
Mulligans ST took advantage of the situation, moving within two frames of the top with an 8-5 win of their own against club mates Youth. Schnapps A maintain their title hopes following their 8-4 win over Jolly Sailor. Both Redbourne teams scored victories this week as NnC recorded an 8-4 win over Chancel whilst Madness came away from Broughton WMCA with a 9-4 victory to stay fourth.
Division 5 strugglers Roxy Rack Em got the result of the day with an outstanding 10-2 win at home to Butchers of Winterton.
Mill Road Dynamite go back top following their 10-3 win over struggling Talbot whilst second placed Showmans Young Ones maintain the pressure with another victory this week against Beckwood. Both Showmans Hornets and Black Beauty scored narrow victories over Mill Road B and Ashby Crown B respectively
The top two collided at Beacon this week as run-away league leaders Harrys Bar Harriers went to second placed Beacon Rats. The Harriers extended their lead further to an impressive 15 points as they won 9-4. Beckwood took advantage of the situation to move up to second with a near whitewash 11-1 victory at home to struggling Brumby Hall B.
Foxhills Bulldogs also kept their promotion alive with a 9-3 win over Scunthorpe Bowl. Foxhills Club made it a double for this team this week as they came away from Mill Road DM with an 8-5 victory. Schnapps Elite maintain their position in fifth spot with a 7-5 win over sixth placed Beacon B
Mulligans Unique stated their claim as serious title contenders this week with a convincing 10-2 home win over stablemates Spurs to stay top of the table.
Schnapps Reloaded move down to second as although they won it was by the finest margin as they won 7-5 at home to winless Priory. Although the newcomers do appear to be the whipping boys at the bottom of the division, further inspection of their seasons results averaging 4 frames per match does suggest that a victory is on the cards sooner rather than later.
Keadby Club picked up their eighth victory of the season against Schnapps Retro B to keep them in a position to pounce to the top spot with their game in hand. Lord Roberts remain in the promotion mix with a 6-6 draw with Bottesford Town Club whist Grosvenor return to the top 5 with an overdue win over Schnapps Retro A after losing their previous 6 games despite a good start to the season.
