‘Lock Up Your Boss’ for new fundraising event by Grimsby homeless charity

Employees will have a chance to get their boss “out of the way for a day” to enter them in a new fundraising event organised by Grimsby homeless charity Harbour Place.

The charity, which is turning 25 this year, organised the event Titled “Lock Up Your Boss”, the event will take place on Monday, November 28, and will see the charity imprison bosses from around North East Lincolnshire for a full day in the former cells at Grimsby Town Hall.

Staff from Harbour Place will first “arrest” each boss before taking them to the Time Trap Museum deep in the town hall to be locked away behind the bars of the old police cells.

Bosses will be able to contact friends, family, and colleagues in a bid to help raise their bail money once locked up, all of which will go to Harbour Place, and when enough bail money has been raised, the boss will be released.

Bosses that have signed up so far include Rob Walsh, Chief Executive of North East Lincolnshire Council, Kristine Green, Chair of the Mariners’ Trust, Sharon Hunt, Managing Director at Grimsby Operations Ltd, and Andrew Brown, Chair of Trustees at Harbour Place.

Gill Shaw, Fundraising Manager at Harbour Place, said: “This is a great way for workers across North East Lincolnshire to get their own back on their boss and to do some vital fundraising at the same time. The crimes can be misdemeanors ranging from holding too many meetings, being the first to leave on a work night out, sending too many emails, or even because they work too hard.”
