Level crossing shut after ‘hit and run’

A level crossing in Great Coates remains shut this morning after it was struck during a hit and run incident.

Woad Lane crossing was first shut yesterday for the installation of new barriers following the collision which is thought to have occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Humberside Police said:

“Woad Lane, Great Coates, Grimsby level crossing has been closed to traffic due to emergency repairs to the barrier. We would advise all drivers to avoid the area.”
