Selena Gomez reveals her ‘only friend’ in Hollywood

Selena Gomez is a well-known Hollywood name; however, her circle of friends is smaller than you may think.

The stars only ‘true’ Hollywood friend, according to her, s Taylor Swift, the singer shared with Rolling Stone this week as she prepares for the release of her upcoming Apple TV+ documentary, My Mind And Me.

‘I never fit in with a cool group of girls that were celebrities,’ she said.

‘My only friend in the industry really is Taylor [Swift], so I remember feeling like I didn’t belong.’

Gomez, 30, added, ‘I felt the presence of everyone around me living full lives. I had this position, and I was really happy, but … was I? Do these materialistic things make me happy?’

She then said: ‘[I realized] I just didn’t like who I was, because I didn’t know who I was.’

During the interview, she revealed that she contemplated taking her own life for several years after battling psychosis, which lead to her being diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

The actress elaborated on laid her mental health struggles in a new interview with Rolling Stone.

‘I thought the world would be better if I wasn’t there,’ she told the publication, noting she had never attempted suicide.
Selena revealed she had been to four treatment centers amid her mental health battle.

‘I’m going to be very open with everybody about this: I’ve been to four treatment centers,’ she told them.

‘I think when I started hitting my early twenties is when it started to get really dark, when I started to feel like I was not in control of what I was feeling, whether that was really great or really bad.’

According to Rolling Stone, Selena experienced a rollercoaster of highs and lows that would go on for weeks or months.

In describing her lows, Selena said she sometimes spent weeks in bed.

‘It would start with depression, then it would go into isolation,’ she said.
