By Katy Perry: ‘Come see my broken doll eye party trick’
Fans of Katy Perry were quick to joke that the suffered a ‘glitch’ after her eyelid appeared to get stuck during her Las Vegas Residency.
The footage was uploaded to TikTok, with some calling it a ‘mechanical failure’, as the singer struggled to open one of her eyes in the middle of the show.
Perry, 38, struggled to adjust her eyelid, briefly pausing her performance to attend to the malfunction. Dressed in her can-inspired silver leotard, Katy’s eyelid appeared to be stuck, leaving the star struggling to open her right eye.
The moment was captured by a member of the audience who then uploaded it to social media, which sparked all kinds of theories and conspiracies of sorts surrounding the explanation.
Now, Perry has wiped the slate clean, offering a somewhat explanation to what occurred.
At first, Perry laughed off the incident in an Instagram post with the caption, “POV: when you see new 2023 PLAY dates.”
“Welcoming all my #flatearthers #spaceisfakers #birdsarentrealers #skyisntbluers to come see my broken doll eye party trick IRL in Vegas next year! The show’s set list is a fun [ride] through memory lane going all the way back to 2008, a time when we weren’t all frozen by the paranoia of our own echo chambers,” she wrote in the caption.
She promised the show will be a “nonstop party,” and added it isn’t political at all.
“Heck I pour beer out of my tits (that’s a party trick too… I don’t actually lactate hops silly goose!),” she said.
Perry’s residency began in 2021, and continues through April 2023.
