Stolen BMW crashed into police car in ‘erratic’ chase
A stolen BMW went on an ‘erratic’ drive across Grimsby before backing into a police car and damaging another vehicle in the process.
At roughly midday on Sunday 13 November, Humberside Police were alerted to a black BMW 1 Series driving erratically down Hereford Avenue in Grimsby, leading to a pursuit.
It was soon revealed that the vehicle had been stolen as the drivers dangerous driving resulted in the vehicle backing into a police car and damaging another car as well.
Thankfully, no one was injured and police are now appealing for information.
Humberside Police said: “Officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a fail to stop in Grimsby yesterday (Sunday 13 November 2022).
“At around midday yesterday, we were alerted to a black BMW 1 Series driving erratically in the Hereford Avenue area of Grimsby.
“Upon locating the vehicle, which is believed to be stolen, a short pursuit ensued, resulting in the vehicle backing into a police car and damaging another vehicle in the process. Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident.
“We are appealing for anyone who may have seen the occupants reportedly abandon the vehicle and make off from the incident to get in touch with us. The vehicle has been removed from the location in order to assist us with our investigation.
“If anyone was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident, or has dashcam footage of the vehicle, please call us on our non-emergency line, 101, quoting Log 234 of 13th November 2022.”
