New Grimsby gym shows signs of completion

The former Poundstretcher in Grimsby shows signs it’s closer to opening after a complete overhaul.

The store in Victoria Retail Park closed in October, with a note being left that prompted questions from customers. The sign read: ‘sorry we are now closed’.

There are still containers as building work persists, to turn to premises into a state-of-the-art gym, rumoured to open in December.

The premises was transformed into a gym and will be run by the Gym Group, with it now being advertised as a location on their website, with fees from £9.99 a month.

There are still two other Poundstretcher stores nearby at the Alexandra Retail Park as well as one at Hewitts Circus, Humberston.
On their website they said:

‘Situated in the popular Victoria Retail Park, offering free parking and excellent transport links nearby, our gym in Grimsby is easily accessible for locals and commuters alike.

‘Enjoy state-of-the-art equipment, including weights and cardio machines, a huge free weights area and a friendly atmosphere that will help you turn your goals into results.’ The Gym Group wrote on their website.

The team of contractors working at the Victoria Retail Park site was left frustrated recently, after burglars targeted the units outside on two separate occasions. On the night of Saturday, November 12, an air fryer and grill was stolen from the canteen, along with cutlery and food.

This includes a previous incident in October when the workers’ toilets were broken into and vandalised.
