Masses of drugs dumped by roadside
In the latest incident of fly-tipping the area Humberside Police were shocked to find a large quantity of drugs by the side of a road.
Whilst on duty Tuesday evening, two officers were alerted of items discarded on the roadside in the Beelsby area of Grimsby.
Officers were shocked to find that the suspected bag of rubbish was in fact a large quantity of cannabis inside a waste bag.
Sharing the image to Facebook, officers said: “PCSO’s Haynes and Dove were alerted to items disgarded at the roadside. Not your every day fly tipping – off it went for destruction.”
Officers were made aware of the dumping through farm watch, which allowed rural communities to contact police over rural crimes.
Humberside Police said: “As part of our Farm Watch partnership, we were alerted to reports of what looked to be drugs dumped on a roadside in the area of Beelsby, Grimsby yesterday (Tuesday 29 November).
“Upon arrival, officers discovered what is believed to be suspected cannabis inside a waste bag.
“Farm Watch is a police alert system that enables rural communities to raise awareness of rural criminality.”
Recently, Humberside police executed dozens of warrants and seized over £150,000 worth of drugs in Operation Galaxy across the area.
Hundreds of thousands of illicit cigarettes and vapes were also seized and 45 people were arrested in connection with the finds.
