Cleethorpes shop announces sad closure

Cleethorpes shop Maranta has sadly announced that it will be closing, but added that customers should ‘watch this space’.

The news was shared to social media, as they said the closure was with a ‘heavy heart’ and cited an ‘absolutely incredible’ last couple of years.

The wonderfully aesthetic and relaxed atmosphere in Maranta sees locals regularly call by for a browse, refreshments, or just to see the Hall of fame wall, where many customers’ dogs are displayed with polaroid photos.

The Highgate based shop is a meeting place for many locals, some of which shared the social media post, who recognise Maranta for their hard work in creating a much-loved local community staple.

They previously pop-up shops on-site to help raise money for the charity, including a photo booth for dogs, to create a lovely atmosphere for attendees.

From Maranta, Olivia adopted her pooch Mable from Oakwood and both are regularly there to greet customers with a warm welcome and a friendly atmosphere.

Maranta Cleethorpes wrote: ‘We have some news. It’s with a heavy heart that we say this, but we will be closing the doors (and website) at Maranta for the final time on Friday 23rd December.

‘The last couple of years have been absolutely incredible, but the time has come for us to take on some new challenges and adventures!

‘We’ve been absolutely blown away by the support from everyone locally and have met some incredible people…many of them we’re now lucky enough to call friends! We’re so thankful for each and every one of you that’s walked through the door and for every purchase anyone has ever made.

‘We’ve had an absolute blast and hope you all have too!

So, I guess what we’re saying is…come and hang out with us whilst you still can! (And it’s also a heads up if you have a voucher you’d like to spend.’
