Hull attractions announce plans for reopening

Three of Hull’s most-treasured museums and galleries have outlined their plans for the coming months, and announced a reopening date of Monday 17 May.

Subject to government guidance, Ferens Art Gallery, the Streetlife Museum and the Hull and East Riding Museum will reopen with safety measures and guidance in place.

Tickets will be available for visit slots Monday to Saturday, between 10am-4.00pm, and Sunday, between 11am-3.30pm.

They can be booked through the HCAL website or on Eventbrite, and will be available from Monday 10 May.

Simon Green, cultural services director at Hull Culture and Leisure, said:

“Everyone on the team is incredibly excited about the potential of being able to welcome visitors back from 17 May – they are our lifeblood.

“I know how much people have missed being able to access our fantastic museums and galleries, and we’ve certainly missed seeing visitors enjoy our exhibitions and collections.

“As keen as we are to welcome visitors back, it has to be done safely and responsibly. As with summer last year, we’ve worked closely with public health to ensure we have suitable measures in place, ensuring that visitors will be able to enjoy our spaces safely.”
