New resort manager for Cleethorpes

As of April, Scott Snowden will serve as the new resort manager for Cleethorpes.

He will be in charge of beach safety and tourist information in the resort, as well as being a focal point for local businesses and residents to be able to raise things that need dealing with and be the main link with the council services.

In the coming months he will also be working with users of the slipways to crack down on anti-social behaviour on the sea.

In a statement about this new role, Scott Snowden said:

“I’m keen to get businesses large and small to work together for the benefit of the resort – that’s going to be the main focus of my work for the next year. We’re all here trying to do one thing – to make sure that Cleethorpes is a fun and safe place to visit, where people come and want to return”

“We have a beautiful resort, including a SSSI amongst other things and we have to work hard to preserve the ecology we have.”

Snowden will be the first point of contact for local businesses, and residents, to get in touch with when they have ideas and suggestions for improving the resort.

Cllr Callum Procter, Cabinet member for tourism, said:

“A resort manager is something that’s been missing in Cleethorpes for some time – there needs to be a focal point for businesses to liaise with. We have an amazing resort, and we need to make sure we make the best of it for local people and businesses as well as tourists!”

The appointment comes at the same time as major works in the resort are underway, the majority of which are due to finish this year. This includes the White Palm being erected on the North Promenade.

Reflecting on his new role, Scott added:

“If, in a year’s time, I can look back and say that I’ve done my best to bring things together in the resort and we’re all working better together, I’ll be a happy man!”
