Thames Valley Police investigate unexplained death in Oxford

Thames Valley Police have issued an appeal in relation to their investigation into an unexplained death in Oxford.

They are now appealing for witnesses.

On Saturday 28 March, Officers for Thames Valley Police were called to respond to reports of a cardiac arrest at around 8am outside The William Morris public house on Between Towns Road.

A man, aged 36, sadly passed away on Friday 17 April in hospital.

Despite the report of cardiac arrest, it is currently unclear how the man died.

His next of kin has been informed and a post mortem is due to take place.

As part of the investigation officers would like to speak to anyone who saw this man collapse outside the pub.

Officers would also like to speak to anyone who saw this man with facial injuries around the area of Rymers Lane, Cricket Road, Oxford Road and Temple Road between 3.30pm and 11pm on Friday 27 March.

The man was 36 years old and white with a full beard, he was wearing dark clothing, including a dark hooded top.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector James Mather of Oxford CID, said:

“If you saw the man on that Saturday morning before he collapsed or as it happened, we would really like to speak to you.

“Or if you saw him walking around the Cowley area the night before, please get in touch.

“It is currently unclear how the man died and we are working to establish what happened in the moments and days leading up to his death.
