Man who died on Crosby Avenue named by Police
Humberside Police have released the name of a man who recently died following a fatal knife attack on Crosby Avenue in Scunthorpe.
The incident occurred at around 1:30am on Saturday 23 May, when a man was injured in a knife attack.
He subsequently died of his injuries.
Police have now named the 35 year old man as Piotr Rafal Konior.
Five people were arrested on suspicion of murder at the scene on Saturday.
Four of those have been released on conditional bail and a fifth was released unconditionally.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police said:
“Our thoughts and condolences are with Piotr’s family at this distressing time.
“We continue our thorough police investigation and would appeal for anyone who might have information that would help with our enquiries to contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 42 of 23 May 2020.”
Neighbours have reported hearing screams at around the time the incident occurred.
Police were called to the scene, and upon arrival, they made arrests before beginning a forensic investigation.
Emergency services arrived at around 1:45pm.
Mr Konior was administered medical treatment, but died of his injuries shortly after.
Scene of crime officers remained on the scene throughout much of the weekend, investigating and reassuring residents.
