Fatal collision on Mortal Ash Hill
Humberside Police are appealing for information following a fatal collision on Mortal Ash Hill in Scunthorpe.
Officers are appealing for witnesses following the incident which occurred yesterday, June 2, shortly before 5pm.
Two cars, a blue Toyota Aygo and a silver Range Rover, collided where the dual carriageway becomes a single carriageway.
The male driver of the Toyota sadly sustained fatal injuries.
Emergency services attended the scene, but the driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
Following the accident, the road was closed for a short while.
Yesterday, a Humberside Police spokesperson said:
“Officers are currently on Mortal Ash Hill in Scunthorpe responding to a serious collision involving two vehicles.
“Road closures are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area.”
An earlier post from the force on Twitter said:
“We want to make road users aware of the road closures between the Forest Pines roundabout and the Lakeside roundabout, both east and westbound in Scunthorpe.
“This is due to an on-going incident, road users are advised to avoid these roads where possible.”
Both a passenger in the Toyota and the driver of the Ranger Rover also sustained injuries in the collision.
Humberside Police are now seeking witnesses to the fatal road traffic collision which occurred on Mortal Ash Hill.
