Man charged over murder of Doncaster woman

A man has been charged over the murder of a woman found critically injured at a house in Doncaster.

Amy-Leanne Stringfellow, 26, was pronounced dead on Friday 5 June after emergency services were called to a property on Dryden Road, Balby.

She was a personal trainer and mum of 1.

Officers for South Yorkshire Police had received reports that a woman had suffered serious injuries.

Upon arrival, she was found to be critically ill, and was pronounced dead a short time after.

Speaking after the incident, her family said:

“Our hearts are broken and will never truly be repaired.

“You were beautiful and kind and inspired so many others.

“We know you will live on in your little girl. We love you all the pennies in the world.”

Doncaster man Terence Papworth, 45, and has now been charged with the murder of local woman Amy-Leanne Stringfellow.

Papworth was questioned yesterday and after being charged was remanded in custody.

He is due at a hearing at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

Detectives and crime scene investigators spent much of yesterday at the house where Amy’s body was found.
