Tribute planned for Doncaster murder victim Amy Stringfellow

Friends and family of Doncaster murder victim Amy Stringfellow have planned a lantern tribute in her memory.

Amy, 26, a mother of one, died at a house in Dryden Road, Balby last Friday after emergency services found her with severe injuries.

A 45-year-old man, Terence Papworth of the same address, has appeared in court charged with her murder.

Her family and friends have now asked people across Doncaster to release biodegrable sky lanterns for Amy this weekend.

A post on Facebook said:

“Let’s light up the sky for our angel.

“We will be letting lanterns off on Saturday night at 9pm for Amy Stringfellow.

“If everybody can let them off from their own houses due to Covid – let’s light the whole sky up from everywhere.

“If you can all buy biodegradable ones please.”

People have also taken to facebook to honour Amy’s memory.

Amy’s aunt, Denise Elliott wrote:

“My beautiful baby niece.

“So cruelly taken from us. I don’t know how our family can ever be the same again without you in it.

“We are totally numb. We love you more than life itself.”

A vigil, organised by Women’s Lives Matter, will also be held on Saturday, from 3pm in Elmfield Park.

The vigil also honours the lives of two other women who were recently killed in Doncaster.
