Detectives for Humberside Police are investigating a reported rape in Pearson Park in Hull.

The attack is thought to have taken place early in the morning of Saturday, 27 June.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch via the force’s non emergency number.

The victim reported that she was walking through the park shortly after midnight when she was attacked.

Detective Chief Inspector Craig Nicholson said:

“Investigations into the report are underway, at this stage it is not being connected to any other reported incidents. 

“This is a priority for us and we have already carried out various investigations, including reviewing CCTV from the area.

“The victim is receiving support from specially trained officers and we have increased high visibility police patrols in the local area to provide reassurance.

“If you believe you have witnessed any suspicious behaviour please do call to get in touch with us.

“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone that was in the park between 11pm on Friday (26 June) and 1am on Saturday (27 June) as we believe you may have information that could assist our investigations.

“If you were in the park or you have any information that could help, please call our non-emergency 101 line quoting log 29 of Sunday 28 June. 

“Alternatively you can report information anonymously via the independent charity Crimstoppers on 0800 555 111.”
