Man rescued from Doncaster house fire

A man was rescued from a blazing house fire in Doncaster last night.

Fire crews from Doncaster Fire Station were called at 9.50pm last night.

They were sent to the scene on Ellis Crescent, Rossington, where they found a property alight.

Four officers entered the building wearing protective gear and breathing apparatus.

Police and ambulance services also attended the scene.

They were on the scene for around an hour and a half.

Today, it was confirmed that a man was rescued from the building.

He was seen being carried out of the building by officers in breathing apparatus.

Paramedics took the man to Doncaster Royal Infirmary where he will be treated for smoke inhalation.

Speaking after the incident a fire officer said:

“One adult male was rescued.

“The man was upstairs and been overcome by smoke.”

It is understood there was only one person in the house.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
