Pedestrian seriously injured in collision

An investigation has been launched to trace the driver of a vehicle following a collision which resulted in a pedestrian being seriously injured.

The vehicle is thought to have struck the pedestrian at the Monument roundabout in Brigg.

The incident occurred in the early hours of yesterday morning.

A 24-year-old man has suffered potentially life threatening injuries and is being treated in hospital.

The man’s family have requested that the injured man is not identified.

However, the driver of the vehicle did not stop.

Officers for Humberside Police are now working to establish the circumstances of the collision.

A spokesperson for the force has said:

“We were called by ambulance crews at 12.50am on Sunday, 5 July and are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time or believes they may have seen the man prior to the collision.

“We’re particularly keen to speak to the driver of a white van, which was seen driving towards Wrawby at around the time of the collision.

“If you can help, please call our non-emergency 101 line, quoting log number 50 of July 5.”
