Air ambulance attends serious collision on A1(M)

An air ambulance has landed to attend to a serious collision on the A1(M) northbound between Junction 36 and Junction 37, near Doncaster.

Officers are on the scene as they investigate the crash.

Earlier today, the road was closed in both directions.

The southbound carriageway has since been reopened.

South Yorkshire Police remain on scene and continue to carry out their investigations.

According to Highways England, Northbound traffic is being diverted via the Solid Diamond symbol.

Delays are likely both on approach to the closure, and on the diversion route, so advice is to allow additional time for your journeys.

It is currently unknown whether any serious injuries have been caused, or how many vehicles were involved.

Updates to follow.
