Police in 11 mile chase through Doncaster

South Yorkshire Police officers have arrested a male suspect following an 11 mile police chase through Doncaster.

He was finally apprehended after leading authorities on a chase from Mexborough to Carcroft on Tuesday 14 July, at around 10.22pm.

Officers from South Yorkshire Police began their pursuit of a Ford Transit flat back van on Greens Way in Mexborough.

Residents reported a ‘high police presence’ in the area.

This included a police helicopter circling overhead.

It is reported that the driver failed to stop when asked.

The 11 mile chase ended on Borrowdale Close, Carcroft where one man was arrested for traffic offences.

South Yorkshire Police have yet to comment on the incident.
