Teenage girl hospitalised in A1M collision

South Yorkshire Police have issued an appeal for information after a teenage girl was hospitalised in a collision on the A1M yesterday.

An air ambulance attended the scene of a serious collision on the A1(M) northbound between Junction 36 and Junction 37, near Doncaster yesterday.

A 13-year-old girl was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where she remains.

It has been reported that the driver of the vehicle was uninjured.

The road was closed in both directions while officers investigated.

It is now thought that an Iveco flatbed truck was travelling north when it left the carriageway and drove down the embankment at around 11am yesterday morning, Friday 17 July.

A statement released by South Yorkshire Police said:

“Roads policing officers investigating a collision on the A1M near Doncaster yesterday are appealing for information and dashcam footage as part of their enquiries.

“Officers are urging anyone who saw what happened, or who has dashcam footage of the vehicle prior to the collision to contact them.

“You can call 101 quoting incident number 324 of 17 July.

“You can send dashcam footage to enquiries@southyorks.pnn.police.uk quoting the same incident number in the subject line.”
