Humberside Police have launched a public appeal after an entire building was stolen from outside a sports centre in Hull.

The building is said to have been taken from Chanterlands Avenue on Wednesday 15 July.

Authorities received reports that two men arrived at the centre and dismantled the wooden building, making numerous trips to the site, between 9am and 3pm, to remove it using a large white van.

The men were challenged by the staff at the centre however they managed to remove the whole building.

The structure is described as being 12ft by 33ft and is said to be a significant weight when constructed.

A statement released by Humberside Police this afternoon stated:

“The incident was reported to us once it was established that the men did not have the authority to remove the building which is a valuable resource for the sports centre and well used by the local community.

“If you have any information on who the men could be, have seen the building or have been offered to purchase it or its timber, please call our non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference number 16/74718/20.”
