Boredom blamed for Lincoln statue attack

Vandalism at Lincoln Arboretum

Sadly, the lion statue situated in the Arboretum park in Lincoln has become victim to vandals overnight.

The statue has been left with paint marks covering the base from when someone threw a paint can at it overnight on Tuesday.

A chair and the can of pain have also been left on the plinth.

The statue is now undergoing a deep clean, and Lincolnshire Police have become involved.

A statement issued on Facebook by City of Lincoln Council said:

“Very disappointing to see that our lion statue at the much-loved Lincoln Arboretum was vandalised overnight.

“The statue will be cleaned over the next few days to bring it back to its former glory.”
