Officers for the Humber Roads Police team pulled over a red Lamborghini in Scunthorpe on Saturday for not having a front number plate.

The driver of the supercar alleged that it “fell off”.

Unsurprisingly, Humber Roads Police officers were unconvinced.

Reporting the incident via Twitter, a spokesperson said:

“This Lamborghini was spotted in Scunthorpe because it was missing its front number plate.

“Driver states it had fallen off. Driver issued traffic offence report.

“There was no trace of adhesive or crew holes.

“The driver then stated that it was sold without a front number plate.”

A member of the public responded saying:

“If he can afford a Lamborghini you’d think he could pay to have his plates put on!

“Oh he hide the plate so the camera doesn’t get him. To be honest a small fine won’t stop him.

“If you can afford a Lamborghini then the fine should be ÂŁ600.00! And go up each time pulled over.”

Yesterday, the team stopped several other vehicles for similar offences of either not having non-conforming licence plates, or having none at all.
