Two hospitalised after Cleethorpes crash

Two people have been taken to hospital following a crash between a van and a car at a roundabout in Cleethorpes.

At around 11:30am today, Tuesday 11 August, a silver Ford Transit van and a white Vauxhall Corsa collided.

The incident on the roundabout at the junction of St Peter’s Avenue and Cambridge Street.

The driver and passenger of the Vauxhall Corsa were taken to hospital.

Emergency services remain at the scene, and the road is no longer fully accessible.

Officers are awaiting recovery vehicles to remove both vehicles from the scene.

A Humberside Police spokesperson said:

“We responded to a road traffic collision at 11.30am today on St Peters Avenue in Cleethorpes.

“Two vehicles were in collision, a white Vauxhall Corsa and a silver Ford Transit van.

“The driver of the Corsa has been taken to hospital for treatment for what are thought to be serious but not life-threatening injuries.

“The road will remain obstructed while the vehicles are recovered.”

The public are advised to avoid the area while the incident is dealt with.

Update: The road has now reopened to traffic.
