Lincoln man charged with manslaughter

A local man has been charged with manslaughter following an incident with resulted in the death of another man near University Bridge in Lincoln.

The incident occurred at around 11.45pm on Saturday 16 May.

Lincolnshire Police attended the scene following reports of an assault near the University Bridge on Brayford Way.

A man in his 50s was found with serious head injuries and taken to hospital.

Unfortunately, the 50-year-old male victim was said to have died three days later, on Tuesday 19 May.

His identity was later confirmed the man who died following the incident at University Bridge in Lincoln was David Turner.

Police announced that they were treating the death as unexplained.

A 38-year-old man was arrested and released on bail in connection with the assault.

In the latest update, Lincolnshire Police have announced that Adnan Mehmed, 38, of Park Street in Lincoln, has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of David Turner.

Mehmed has been released on bail and is due to appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court in October.
