Bike seized in Doncaster after user shopped to SYP

South Yorkshire Police’s Off Road Team have seized a quad bike in Doncaster yesterday following a community-tip off.

When confronted, the biker told police in Doncaster that it was the first time he had used the vehicle, which had no insurance and no number plates, on the road.

However a passer-by quickly informed officers “he’s on it all the time!”

A spokesperson for the force said:

“After a pincer movement, the rider was initially trapped but despite this accelerated to try and get away, nearly running officers over.

“One of the team managed to grab hold of the male’s wrist and the other officer killed the engine.

“Thankfully no one was hurt. The quad was not insured and was seized. The rider was dealt with for traffic offences.”

This forms part of South Yorkshire Police’s wider action against nuisance bikes across the region.
