Hull teenager charged after major search for suspect
A teenager has been charged with burglary following a dramatic search for the suspect in Hull yesterday morning.
A drone and a police dog were used to assist Humberside Police in the hunt.
At approximately 3.55am this morning, Thursday 13 August, officers received a report that a property on Cropton Road, Hull had been broken into.
A bag containing car keys had been reported stolen, and had allegedly been used to subsequently steal a car.
Officers located the car in North Hull but after it failed to stop and the occupants began to run away.
In a dramatic search, the force deployed their dogs section.
A drone from Humberside Fire and Rescue Service also joined the area search.
Police dog Tom detained a teenage boy in a nearby garden.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of burglary following his arrest in the early hours of yesterday morning.
He has now been charged with four burglaries and stealing two cars.
The boy, who cannot legally be named due to his age, is due to appear before Hull Magistrates Court this morning.
#2/2 Despite still running when challenged by handler and PD Tom, the male continued to attempt to get away and was detained by his leg as he was attempting to climb a fence.

A Humberside Police spokesperson said:
“Our enquiries are ongoing but we would ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch with us on 101, quoting crime reference number 16/84678/20.”
