New Sainsbury’s in North Swindon

A new Sainsbury’s Local convenience store will open in North Swindon tomorrow (Thursday).

It is located at Tadpole Garden Village, Maizey Road, and will be the first retailer to open at the Tadpole Local Centre.

The new Sainsbury’s will offer quality food and create local jobs, while car parking will also be provided.

There are a further four retail units to be occupied at the Tadpole Local Centre.

The opening of Sainsbury’s will complement the amenities on offer at the award-winning development, which includes play parks, primary schools, a secondary school, allotments, and public open space including a nature park.

Kieran Daya, Managing Director of Crest Nicholson Partnerships Strategic Land, said: “The opening of Sainsbury’s Local marks another important milestone for the Tadpole Garden Village community.

“Since we first started work at the development in 2013, we have been committed to building a sustainable community for both current and future residents through infrastructure, schools, well-designed homes, and retail.

“Having a landmark retailer like Sainsbury’s at the Local Centre, alongside the schools, parks and homes, is another added benefit for residents at the development and we look forward to attracting more retailers to Tadpole Garden Village in the near future.”

Patrick Dunne, Director of Property at Sainsbury’s, said: “This is our first convenience store to open in Swindon and we are very excited to bring a new Sainsbury’s Local to Tadpole Garden Village residents. We are very pleased that we will make shopping for everyday essentials convenient for so many in the area and look forward to opening our doors to customers.”
