No Covid-19 patients in intensive care in Doncaster
According to the Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, there are currently no hospital patients who require intensive care treatment due to Covid-19 in Doncaster.
There are currently just four patients at Doncaster Royal Infirmary who are confirmed to have tested positive for coronavirus, and one in Bassetlaw Hospital.
None of them require intensive care.
A statement issued by the trust via Facebook said:
According to a National Surveillance Report published last week, the infection rate in Doncaster is now 3.2 cases per 100,000 people.
This means figures have declined since the previous week.
Discussing the situation locally, Dr Rupert Suckling, Director of Public Health in Doncaster added that despite this fantastic news, the public should avoid complacency:
“Infection rates can go up and down and whilst the infection rate is good news that it’s fallen, it doesn’t mean that it will continue to decrease, we’ve all got a responsibility to follow the rules and not put others in danger so let’s do it for Doncaster and continue to be responsible,” he added.
Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has so far cared for 733 inpatients with coronavirus.
Almost 500 have been discharged and are in recovery.
