Murder investigation launched in Doncaster

South Yorkshire Police have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a man’s body at a house in Doncaster.

Officers were called to the property on Grove Place in the Balby area of Doncaster at around 11pm on Wednesday 26 August.

Upon arrival, the body of a 39-year-old man was found.

Three people, two women and a man, were present at the scene.

They were detained on suspicion of murder, according to South Yorkshire Police.

The two women, aged 45 and 40, and a 21-year-old man remain in police custody at this time, as investigations continue.

A statement issued by the force said:

“An investigation has been launched following the discovery of a man’s body at an address in Balby, Doncaster.
“Officers attended the flat in Hatfield House, Grove Place shortly after 11pm last night and found the body of a 39-year-old man.
“Three people present at the scene were detained on suspicion of murder. Two women, aged 45 and 40, and a 21-year-old man, remain in police custody at this time.
“Formal identification and a post mortem examination are yet to take place. 
“Anyone with information about the man’s death is asked to contact police on 101. The incident number to quote is 926 of 26 August.”

A police cordon remained in place throughout much of the day yesterday.
