Tragedy follows collision in Scunthorpe

Humberside Police are appealing for information following a three car collision which occurred yesterday, Wednesday 2 September.

Tragically, the crash resulted in one fatality.

The incident happened at around 10am at the junction of Fardell Road and Queensway in Scunthorpe.

Emergency services were called to the scene following the accident.

A section of the Queensway’s eastbound carriageway was closed for around eight hours, reopening at around 6.10pm yesterday.

The driver of a silver Honda Logo, an 89 year-old Scunthorpe woman, was taken to hospital following the collision.

She sadly died in hospital.

Another driver, that of a black Vauxhall Zafira, sustained serious but not life threatening injuries.

The third driver is reportedly shaken but not injured.

Humberside Police have requested that anybody with information get in touch with the force.

A statement said:

“If you witnessed the incident or that saw either vehicle prior to the collision and can help with our investigation please call our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 118 of 2 September 2020.”
