Local pupil tests positive for Covid-19

Another local school has had to take action following a confirmed case of Covid-19 in a pupil.

It is the fourth school in Northern Lincolnshire to be affected by the condition since reopening last week.

According to reports, a year 6 student at Lisle Marsden Church of England Primary Academy in Grimsby has tested positive.

Those who have been in close contact with the pupil have been notified and instructed to self-isolate.

But, the school remains open to all other students.

The unfortunate news was confirmed in a letter sent to parents by the school’s headteacher, Mr Dan Kinsey.

It reads:

“I am very sorry to have to inform everybody that a child at Lisle Marsden has tested positive for coronavirus.

“The single case is restricted to Year 6 only. Parents of children in Year 6 identified as being in close proximity to the child have already been contacted by the school.

“All other children can continue to attend school as normal.

“All necessary precautions have been taken, with advice from the local health protection team, including a deep clean of the affected classrooms.

“Please don’t worry.”
