By Driver dies after car crashes off the M180
A driver died after his car went out of control and ended up in a field off the M180.
The incident happened on the westbound carriageway of the M180 yesterday (Saturday) afternoon.
The accident, which did not involve any other vehicles, occurred close to junction 4 near Brigg shortly after 12.15pm, when a red Volkswagen Golf left the road coming to rest in a nearby field.
Emergency services attended however the driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
A second man, who was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the collision, suffered what are thought to be minor injuries.
The road was closed for several hours as crash investigators worked at the scene.
Anyone that witnessed the collision, or has dashcam footage from driving in the area at the time, is asked to call Humberside Police‘s non-emergency 101 line quoting log 245 of 19 September.
