The development of the SHIIP business park is progressing well as North East Lincolnshire Council marks a milestone in the transformation of the industrial landscape in Grimsby and the surrounding areas.

Part of the South Humber Industrial Investment Programme, (SHIIP), the site is currently under rapid development just off the A180.

With the steel frame now in place, work is commencing on the exterior cladding and interior spaces.

Part of North East Lincolnshire Council’s ambitious £42m SHIIP (South Humber Industrial Investment Programme), the development is being managed by the authority’s regeneration partner ENGIE with its Technical Design Team taking a lead on the design and build.

The premises’ construction is aided by a £950k grant through the Local Growth Fund, Humber Growth Deal grant programme, secured by the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership as part of the Government’s commitment to the Northern Powerhouse.

Work is on schedule, and is expected to be completed early in 2021.

The contract is expected to cost around £2.2m, and will create up to 3,000 jobs within the next decade.

A new roundabout is also under construction to gain access to the park – this is set to be completed by December.
