Police investigate targeted burglary in Grimsby

Pedestrian in critical condition following road-traffic collision

An elderly woman is reported to have received life-threatening injuries after she was hit by a black Skoda Octavia on Clee Road.

Humberside Police closed the road in Cleethorpes for several hours following the incident just before 11pm on Saturday 10 October.

Yesterday, a section of the road was cordoned off again in order to allow crash investigators to conduct a forensic examination and establish the circumstances and cause of the collision.

The victim is understood to have suffered multiple injuries in the crash.

Emergency services attended the scene, and the woman was taken to hospital.

Her current condition is unknown.

Humberside Police have now launched a public appeal for information, while they investigate the routes taken by both the pedestrian and the vehicle.

A statement released this afternoon reads:

“We are appealing for witnesses to a collision between a pedestrian and black Skoda Octavia on Clee Road, Cleethorpes at approximately 10.55pm on Saturday 10 October.

“The collision is believed to have happened between Davenport Drive and Clee Crescent.

“The pedestrian was taken to hospital and is being treated for what are thought to be potentially life threatening injuries.

“Officers investigating the circumstances of the collision are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or has dash cam or CCTV footage in the area at the time to come forward.”

Anybody with relevant information should contact Humberside Police via the non-emergency number 101, quoting log 661 of 10 October.
