Councils from across Greater Lincolnshire have come together to help people cut their home energy costs this winter.

The Lincs 4 Warmer Homes (L4WH) scheme has been set up across Greater Lincolnshire, offering home energy efficiency improvements and advice.

The partnership, which includes North East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire councils, is calling for residents to enquire about the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) funding stream now available.

Funding is now available for a number of improvements including loft, cavity wall, and solid wall insulation, boiler replacements and installing first-time central heating.

Councillor John Fenty, cabinet member for Housing at North East Lincolnshire Council, said:

“We’re proud to be able to support residents with the ECO funding available through the partnership.

“Whilst it is important people have heating systems installed, it is key they have the appropriate insulation to ensure homes can remain warm at a reduced cost.

“I would urge all residents to get in touch with the team to find out what funding streams they could be eligible for.”

Councillor David Rose, cabinet member for environment at North Lincolnshire Council, added:

“It is brilliant to be part of this energy efficiency partnership with the Greater Lincolnshire authorities. By working together we can ensure that residents have access to the best funding and advice to carry out energy efficiency improvements on their home.

“There are a range of funding streams available for households, which will not only reduce their carbon footprint but save them money on their energy bills.

“I would encourage anyone who could benefit from this funding to get in touch and find out more information.”

Funding available comes from a range of sources including Government and energy companies with the aim to combat fuel poverty across the UK.
