Tragic news after lady found collapsed in Grimsby

Humberside Police were called to an incident after reports of a lady found collapsed on a driveway on Heneage Road, Grimsby, earlier this morning at approximately 8am.

A large emergency services presence including Air Ambulance was reported as the road was blocked to traffic and members of the public cleared after desperate attempts to revive the lady.

In a statement from Humberside Police, a source said:

“Officers are currently in attendance on Heneage Road in Grimsby”.

“We were called shortly after 8am this morning about the concern for safety of a woman found in the street, on arrival at the scene it was found that sadly the woman had died”.

“We are looking to establish the cause of her death but at this stage we do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances and there is not thought to be any risk to the public”.

“A scene guard is in place to allow emergency services to deal with the incident and we would ask for people to avoid the area”.

Eye Witness and resident of Heneage Road, Donna Green, said:

 

“I was walking towards my flat and this lady with two little children ran towards me in distress, asking if i had a phone to ring the emergency services”.

“I asked what happened and she said there’s a body in a driveway”.

“I ran to the driveway and there was a body laying there”.

“I was on the phone to the emergency services whilst the other lady checked if she was alive”.

“If she didn’t pass with the two children, she wouldn’t have been found”.

“The Air Ambulance, paramedics and police all tried, but she was already gone”.

People are being asked to avoid the area whilst investigations proceed.
